At AutoTest, we kickstarted the year with enthusiasm and knowledge-sharing through our first Lunch and Learn session for 2024. Our commitment to encourage a culturally diverse and inclusive working environment is reflected in initiatives like these, ensuring every team member is engaged in all facets of our business.
During this session, David Jenkins our Managing Director, provided a history into AutoTest’s roots and evolution. Beginning his career with VIPAC as an engineer, David shared the company’s journey, tracing back to 1983 when emerged as Australia’s sole quality-accredited roadworthy equipment manufacturer. The presentation shed light on our specialisation in automotive testing and diagnostic instruments, with brake testers making a global impact from 1995.
The year 2000 marked a pivotal moment as AutoTest officially became the company’s name, accompanied by the renaming of key products. The subsequent years saw remarkable milestones, including the release of the Mini brake meter, Acoustic Calibrator, and the introduction of Maxi in the U.K. and New Zealand.
David highlighted the significant year 2004, when the AutoStop Micro hit the market, and Tecalemit became an authorised UK Distributor. AutoTest’s core values – innovation, safety, agility, education, and engineering excellence – have earned us industry recognition, such as the Auto Monitor Gold Award in the Heavy Vehicle Category by the Society of Automotive Engineers.
A star product in our success story is the BAMbino monitor, the world’s first portable bearing acoustic monitor, contributing significantly to our impact in the mining sector.
Following the insightful presentation, our Office Manager, Mary McCormick, organised a fresh and healthy meal. It gives us a chance to eat and socialise together.
Thank you, David, for a well-rounded presentation, delving into the company’s rich history, and to Mary for organising a delightful meal that complemented the session seamlessly.
At AutoTest, we look forward to more lunch and learn sessions – our commitment to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a thriving work culture.
